CT Middle School Debate League Fall Tournament

Registration will close Thursday, November 9th at 9:00 PM

(Please register as early as possible.  The sooner kids register, the sooner we can form teams which allows the kids to maximize their preparation time.)

This house would implement year-round schooling

PAIRINGS FOR CTMSDL

Format

Debaters should prepare and argue both sides. There will be three rounds of debate (the first two will be randomly paired, the third will be power-matched) followed by a public final round between the top two teams, and an awards ceremony.

Transportation

Mrs. H. will leave her place at 7:50 and the kids probably won't return until about 5:30 PM. at the earliest.

Parental Attendance

Parents do not attend these competitions. You are warmly invited and encouraged to attend the state competitions in the spring.

Food

Debaters may pack their lunches or buy tickets for pizza and drinks when they arrive. Pizza will be $2 per slice and bottles of water and lemonade will be $1 each. 

DRESS CODE

Western business attire.  Boys wear a jacket and tie; girls wear a skirt or dress and a sweater or jacket.  If you are in need of any article of clothing please let Ann know so she can put out a group email.  We have been pretty good at coming up with clothing to share.  

Judges

We are required to provide trained judges. Please let us know if you are interested in training to learn to be a judge. It's a lot of fun!

FEES

The total cost including registration, participation, judging and coach expenses is $56.
