Overnight Camp Details

Estes Park, Colorado

WEEK 1: JUly 22-28                WEEK 2: July 29-Aug. 4

YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park,  2515 Tunnel Rd, Estes Park, CO 80511

Ages 11 to 18 - All levels welcome from Extremely competitive to Beginner; no prior experience necessary. Each week, debaters will be grouped based on age and experience.

A number of special features set the two-week sessions apart from the one-week program. Each week is a stand alone:  Students who come for two weeks will be able to build on and improve the skills they worked on during the first week.  They will experience entirely new academic content each weekly session they attend. We have repeatedly found that our students who attend multiple weeks of camp explode in the fall in debate tournaments and MUN Conferences. In addition, the longer time at camp provides the opportunity for students to forge lasting friendships and immerse themselves more fully into this amazing community.  The proof is in the pudding: Students who initially register for only one week almost always try to register for the second week once they have started.

Also integral to the multi-week programs are the weekend excursions. Taking place on the Saturday in between sessions, all campers head out for an exciting day trip.

Each week, campers can choose between debate or Model UN. Choose between Debate summer camp, Model United Nations summer camp, or mix it up; one week of Model UN and one week of Debate!
