Conference Description

Boston University Academy Model UN (BUAMUN) is a conference run by members of Boston University Academy‚Äôs award-winning Model UN team.

BUAMUN is unique in the world of middle school Model UN by virtue of being a middle school conference run in a high school setting, providing the experience of single delegations and crisis simulations. Its small size and wide range of committees, from General Assemblies to specialized committees to Joint Crisis Committees, create a comfortable environment that previews the high school Model UN experience for delegates.

New students: Because of our work in class you will have more experience than some of the other delegates. You will learn tremendous amounts.

Position Paper Guidelines

In order to be eligible for any award, you must submit a position paper. Your position paper should be double spaced in 12 pt. Times New Roman font and around 2 pages in length. While it should be written as one cohesive work, the paper should touch on all three of the topics presented in your background guide. At the top, there should be a single-spaced header, stating your name, your school, your committee, and your position, like so:

  • Delegate: Thomas Mayer

  • School: Boston University Academy (please put your school here, not ours)

  • Committee: Government of Russia

  • Position: Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister

Additional research should be conducted when writing this paper. Since you may not be able to find much about the specific person you will be acting as, please write from the perspective of the position you hold and the jurisdiction it has.

  2. Fill in the following forms online; or print, fill/sign and scan, then email each to Prefix the Subject label with your last name, ex: LASTNAME buamun_medical_slip and LASTNAME buamun_permission_slip.
